EVENTS
Valentine’s Day Fundraiser
In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, our team organized a unique fundraiser in our school where supporters could purchase teddy bears and chocolates to be delivered to loved ones. Using an online form, we collected orders and handled all the logistics, ensuring each gift reached its recipient with a personal touch. This event raised 10,000 reais (about 2,000 francs), a crucial step toward funding our youth initiatives.
Community Feijoada Lunch
To bring people together in a classic Brazilian way, we hosted a community feijoada (Brazilian black bean stew) lunch. Local restaurants and volunteers contributed ingredients, and our team in Brazil prepared a delicious meal that attendees could enjoy while supporting our cause. With tickets sold in advance and at the door, we raised 12,000 reais, all of which went directly toward educational programs and resources for our youth projects.
Samba Dance Workshop
Working with a well-known local samba school, we organized a samba workshop open to the citizens of Porto Alegre. People of all ages joined in, learning dance moves, immersing themselves in Brazilian culture, and enjoying a fun, energetic experience. With participation fees and additional donations from attendees, the workshop raised 8,500 reais, bringing us closer to funding our youth center projects.
Art Auction with Local Artists
In collaboration with local Brazilian artists, we held an art auction showcasing unique pieces that reflected the community’s vibrant culture. From paintings and sculptures to handcrafted jewelry, there was something for everyone. The event attracted a mix of art lovers and community supporters, raising 15,000 reais to invest directly in resources for our youth center, including books and school supplies.
Poster Campaign
To broaden our reach and build awareness, our team distributed posters in nearby communities, sharing our mission and inviting people to support our cause. Through these posters, we reached new supporters and received several donations, helping us spread our message of hope and empowerment while bringing in valuable resources for our programs.
